Enapps today launched an integration with the Microsoft OneDrive file hosting and synchronisation service. This service not only allows Enapps ERP to embrace the standard OneDrive file sharing functionality but also document versioning and file synchronisation along with the ability to access documents from anywhere and on any device. Also, when you attach a document to the ERP it is automatically synchronised to OneDrive and vice versa.

We are really excited about this initiative which enhances our in-ERP Document Management System in major ways. We feel this it is also worth noting that most ERP systems do not have an integrated Document Management System and clients can often end up paying for a third-party product, which adds to the implementation price and can compromise the system integrity.

This initiative came about whilst planning our integrated DMS module enhancements. When we listed the enhancements we required, we realised that third party products such a Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive have the functionality we were seeking along with some other neat functionality which effectively came for free. We, therefore, decided that by integrating with one of these products at the API level we would be able to enhance the overall Enapps ERP experience for our clients when using our DMS module.

Our R&D department took a close look at all three products and eventually decided to integrate with OneDrive. The deciding factor for this was the de facto integration with Office365 and since most of the SMEs we work with use Microsoft Office365, this became the obvious choice. We now therefore not only have file versioning and synchronisation support but also have the ability to edit and view Microsoft Office365 documents from directly within the ERP environment. As far as we know, this is a first for any ERP company.

We are currently in the early adoption rollout phase of this product and client feedback at this time has been overwhelmingly positive. If you are interested in this or any other Enapps functionality, give us a call on 020 8090 9222.
